These ads are typically best for product launches or direct messaging, as you’re guaranteed viewership because the ads can’t be skipped – however keep in mind that you’re not guaranteed a set amount of viewers and they might not be as engaged.
CPM for these ads ranges from £4 to £10, depending on the audience size you’re wanting to target and the specific parameters you select.
Bumper Ads are short-form, non-skippable ads. Up to 6 seconds in length, they are shown before the video the viewer wants to watch. Because they’re short, this ad type is best for getting across quick branding messages and ‘teasers’.
Bumper Ads are also paid on a CPM basis.
The typical CPM for these ads is between £1 and £5. Quite high. However, they have a very high reach potential due to being short and concise. They’re good for growing brand or cause awareness and recall.
Video Discovery Ads are also charged for on a cost-per-click (CPC) basis. You only pay when users click to watch the video they’re promoting.
The purpose of these ads is to drive views on videos that are already on the YouTube platform – rather than sending users to an external website. So, they’re best for driving traffic to your YouTube Channel or individual videos, with high-intent viewers.
The CPC for these ads ranges anywhere from £0.10 to £0.30, depending on the level of competition within the industry you’re targeting.
These ads are excellent for reaching users actively searching for content related to your brand or industry.
Small businesses in the UK typically spend around £6 per day on YouTube Ads.
